1. Research an angle that adds something.
A useful commentary Short starts with a question, observation or explanation. Think about what viewers will understand after watching your video. Give familiar footage fresh context through your own story.
Use the Moritory Script Generator plugin in your own ChatGPT account. Its packaged research and writing guides help develop an angle, check facts, build the narration and plan footage queries. Review the sources and wording before exporting the compatible script.json.
The research workflow is already organized. You do not need to buy a course to start. The plugin provides a process you can use, while your source checks and creative judgment shape the final story.
Plugin availability depends on the upload/installation features in your ChatGPT account. Your ChatGPT plan and usage limits apply separately from Moritory Premium. Optional vidIQ research can help you explore topic and packaging ideas; it is not required for manual footage selection.
2. Import your script and hear the draft.
Create a local project and import your script JSON. Moritory generates narration after the model setup, then builds a numbered draft so you can hear how each scene fits the story before choosing footage.
Check pronunciation, pacing, factual meaning and the opening hook. A clear draft gives you a specific brief for every shot, instead of a folder of clips you still need to organize.
Narration and rendering run on your computer. Initial model setup, supported online source tools and membership verification need internet access. Google sign-in and active Premium are required to use the app.
3. Find footage and choose the exact moments.
Use the app’s source tools to find videos, or paste a supported post URL. Moritory handles supported footage downloads inside the workflow. You decide which shot explains a line and select its source start time visually.
| Source | How it fits the workflow |
|---|---|
| TikTok | Source search and supported video URLs. |
| Discovery/fallback paths and supported Reel or post URLs. | |
| Supported exact video or Reel URL; automatic Facebook search is not provided. |
Some sources require a login. Availability can change when the source service changes. Use videos you have the rights or permission to include; a download tool does not grant media rights.
Plan around 30 minutes for footage selection and review. This is our workflow planning estimate. Research depth, available clips and your decisions can make it faster or slower. Generation and local rendering take additional time.
4. Refine the scenes that need attention.
A source clip may contain distracting text. Use local text cleanup, preview the result and undo it if the repair introduces artifacts. Preserve context and any attribution your use requires.
Enable an arrow for a scene when it helps explain the point. Moritory places it automatically; inspect its position and timing in the preview. Replace footage or adjust its start time when a better moment serves the narration.
Completed work stays cached so you can improve a scene while reusing the narration. This keeps attention on the edit that matters.
5. Give the video your channel’s identity.
Save a brand profile with your watermark text, installed font, subtitle accent and authorized voice reference. The default Moritory subtitle look uses white lettering with a deeper green outline. Your custom profile can express your own channel.
Use only voice recordings you are authorized to use. Preview the narration and check that it fits the meaning and tone of the story.
Moritory can add background music automatically, or you can choose a track and start point. Listen to the full mix and the music-only replay preview. Picture, narration and music blending work together across the replay boundary, with your final check deciding whether the seam feels right.
6. Review the whole Short, then export.
Watch the complete video at a size similar to a phone screen. Read every caption, inspect source cuts, hear the narration and listen through the replay. Confirm that the opening is clear and the ending completes the story.
When it is ready, export the MP4, copy your title and description and choose a thumbnail. You control publishing on your own channel. Moritory does not publish or guarantee platform monetization for you.
Making videos without showing your face is possible. Making useful original commentary is still your creative responsibility. See the YouTube commentary monetization guide for originality, eligibility and earnings context.
